Audio Description

Pittsburgh CLO welcomes all audience members and strives to make everyone’s visit as comfortable and accessible as possible.

Audio Description is a service designed for use by the blind and visually impaired. A trained describer details the action, set, props, and costumes seen on stage for the benefit of the audience members. In other words, the describer interprets the visual elements that may be important to someone who cannot see them. The describer begins pre-show notes 15-20 minutes prior to curtain. Patrons can pick up a wireless headset from Guest Services in the Benedum Center's Grand Lobby near the elevator, or at the top of the ramp at the Byham Theater.

Audio Descriptive Performances are not currently scheduled, but may be in the future, or upon request.

If you have specific questions, please feel free to ask your ticketing representative or call Pittsburgh CLO directly: 412-281-2822.
